On Saturday, July 21st a group of volunteers were presented with the President’s Volunteer Service Award as an appreciation for the number of hours that they volunteered for the Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands, a 501(c)3 organization. The program is administered by AmeriCorps and Points of Light. Volunteers were awarded a Bronze medal for 100-249 hours, Silver for 250-499 hours and Gold for 500+ hours. Along with the medal, awardees were presented with a personalized certificate of achievement and letter signed by the President of the United States.
Any volunteer performing any task for the Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands is eligible to have their hours counted towards receiving this award. See our volunteer page to learn more.
